ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes) Service

The anti-lock braking systems (ABS) are designed to prevent the wheels of your vehicle from locking during hard braking. No matter how good of a driver you are, when the wheels of your car are locked, instead of stopping, they end up sliding over the road. This can cause you to lose the ability to steer, resulting in the vehicle spinning out of control. Therefore, the ABS system in your car is an important safety feature, especially in Ontario, where roads can often get slick with rain and snow

The ABS system has predefined service intervals. We urge you check the Owner's Manual of your vehicle and keep to the manufacturer’s recommendations as the maximum amount of time between services.

What the ABS light means

When there is a problem with the ABS system, it will turn the warning ABS light on to alert the driver that this safety system is no longer active. It is a good idea to call our service department to have it checked out just to be on the safe side.

Every driver has unique operating conditions. Only you know how frequently you use your brakes, under what load, and in what weather. Hence, pay attention to changes in brake performance, even the small ones, and if your car’s ABS system isn’t responding as quickly as it used to, it’s time to schedule brake repair services.
